My pledge for Thanksgiving dinner

18 Nov

Well, if you was not ready …..it doesn’t really matter….the holidays are here!

Thanksgiving is next Thursday and I am actually looking forward to cooking my annual family dinner. I hope it turns out better than last year. The first year was outstanding, but to me, the second year was just okay.

I pledge:

to not take any short cuts

cook my food with time and precise

and I think I’ll try a couple of new recipes –to spice up the taste buds.

I can’t wait…I might cook my meal tonight. LOL!!  Nol, but I am going grocery shopping.

Happy Anniversary, babe!

31 May

Three years today, my last name was changed as well as life. Not many people are living out their vows..for better or worst. They are gettn divorces at the drop of a dime. If you know marriage is not for you, be real to yourself. Accepting reality is better than living a lie.

It took me a while to say “I do”, but I did it when I was ready. And when I knew it was real. I don’t regret that move. I’m loving it still. May my husband and I have many more Anniversaries to come.

My little brother

16 Feb

Almost a Valentine’s baby, but he changed his mind and decided to wait to the day after. Wow, it’s been twenty year ago to this day. I changed his diapers, fed him milk, and really had to play big sister, because I was so much older than him. Boy, Boy…. I hated babysitting those jokers. PJ, Shenika, and Hachim ……. they are the reason I didn’t want kids of my own.

Years later two kids of my own…….

Happy Birthday, Lil Brother

Rude comments

3 Feb

Yesterday, I was viewing  a local News website  reading up on a death investigation. Afterward, I glanced down at the comments section and was very bothered how the overseers let such garbage make it to their site.  You know, I take pause everytime I hear about sad occasions such as death. And to know its such a sensitive issue to the family and friends, disrespectful noise does not contribute to the situation in ways of appreciation.

It’s completely okay if you want to be heartless and rude to yourself, but I’d Be Damn,  if you express it on a worldwide website .

If only people would treat others how they want  to be treated.

It means alot when you THINK about OTHERS, First!

Goodnite!

Happy New Year 2011

5 Jan

We are all so blessed to enter into 2011. So, many of our relatives and friends were not as fortunate. I am blessed to say I completed all my 2010 resolutions. I don’t really have any resolutions for 2011 yet. I just want to make the best out of life, while I am here on earth. Do the same….Happy New Year from my family to yours!

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

24 Nov

Shouts out to my granny, Mrs. Jones, I don’t know why she loves to cook; but that trait did not rub off on me. I have been in this kitchen since 11am. I am tired, back hurting, hot, & sweating like hell. Damn, this cooking is really not for me. I’m glad this is once a year. I guess the best part is the food is turning out good.

Happy Thanksgiving  to you and your family.
